Finished Object Friday and WIP
Hey, it’s been a while but I’ve been busy with a few things and I’ve made some time to get some sewing and knitting in. I made this top using McCall’s pattern 5640 using this very vibrant print in Rayon. I’ll be wearing this with black capri pants.
The next project I made was this dress using a shirt pattern that I liked how the bodice was and knew it would make a very nice dress using this linen fabric. What do you think about it. This was New Look pattern number 6515.
I’m also working on this pattern in brown. This time I decided to add a sashing between the bodice and the skirt of the dress. So what do you think of my progress so far?
I have some knitting going on too and finally completed my SIL’s diagonal scarf and have the matching hat on the needles so I’ll share those with you soon.
Stay tuned as I will be showing off a few more tops and a pair of capri pants that have been sitting on the back burner for a while.

that dress is beautiful. Love how its a shirt pattern altered to make a dress. it fits you a treat π really like the bright fabric too, looks very summery.
you have been very busy of late. Think I’m spending too much time reading blogs and finding inspiration..when I should be creating like you π thanks for the inspiration

I absolutely love the pattern on your first top! That is so fabulous. What can I say. You are so talented and I love to follow your progress. I’m so happy that you showed the dress you made from a top pattern. I have two tops that I want to do that to, but just dismissed it because I thought it couldn’t happen. Now, I am going to do it! The only problem is what material to use. When I sew for myself, I have difficultly picking out the material for the pattern. Any thoughts on that? You give me such encouragement because I know how busy you must be with going to school and sewing, sewing, knitting and more sewing.
I just found the material I have been looking for. It was accidently put into my sons storage. I was having an absolute fit about it and just yesterday he came over and we went through his storage and Voile’, there it was; a very large box with about 50 yards of absolutely lovely, timeless material. All I can say is yippee. That’s why I need your thoughts on pattern/material selection.
Keep on keeping on your fabulous!
