My latest venture is building a business website to sell my quilts and other creations. I hope to everything up and running in a about another week. I will be running a Grand Opening Special so I look forward to hearing from you. I haven’t been quilting since I finished the Lady Bug Ryan quilt and I still had several knitting projects I’m almost done with to make time for new projects that are sitting at the machine just calling my name.
This is all for now but stay tuned.
pretty piece of STR cake look what I made with my brand new ball winder. I just ordered this Saturday and couldn’t believe it was here already. Can’t wait to finish my projects and to to Rockn my Socks. To witness how this prize unfolds check out my Flickr roll.
I’m almost done with my Lady V Tote and my Karaoke Cable Scarf and hopefully when I’m done my ball winder will have arrived so that I can make pretty cakes of yarn with my intentions to get my Circs ready to click out some beautiful socks.
I have uploaded pics of my WIP’s on my flickr roll. Please take time to drool over my STR kit.
I was added to the the STR Blog Group and as a newbie to STR I’ve been anticipating this experience since I stumble across it last fall. I have a pair of socks on the needle learning the toe up method from Queen Kahuana and have done a pair in Cascades “Cloud 9” (they are the lime green one’s on my Flickr slide)
Stay tuned and we’ll see what becomes of all of my sock yarn as I am really looking forward to gaining more pairs of socks and gaining some knitting speed.
I’m so excited to get my package but I can’t even show you because we can’t spoil the surprise for the rest of the STR club members out there. I just really love my yarn and can’t wait to get started. I just got into knitting socks last year as a way to learn knitting with DPN’s well this past fall I decided that I wanted to knit on circular needles to speed up the sock knitting process. I was able to learn that with Cat Bordhi’s book Socks Soar on Two Circulars. My next step is to knit 2 socks on 2 cirs at once from the toe up. I’ve made 1 pair on 2 circs, 1 pair from the toe up and now I want to try 2 socks on 2 circs so I think my STR socks might be the ones to try this technique on.
Lady Bug Ryan This is my latest baby quilt. As you can tell I’m not your traditional quilter. I like to mix things up a bit. I started out with a different leave material but didn’t like it after I added the grass. Yes, that is tiny strips of material as blades of grass. I thought it would add to the deminsion of the quilt. This was a fun quilt for me as I was more creative by introducing threads to embellish my lady bug.
I made this for someone and will be going to the baby shower where it will be gifted and can’t wait to see the reaction of the Mother.
It seems as though 2007 just begun and we’re already into March. I’m home today with my oldest daughter who suffers from rhumetoid arthritis and this is by far her worst flare up in a long time. I’m working on homework in accouting and I will finish my Karaoke Cable Scarf. My cable scarf has been a real joy to knit because I was afraid of cables since I learned to knit about a year and a half ago. If I had known that it’s just adding an additional needle and letting stitches rest I would’ve been trying cables.
I’ll be back later today to post pics of my FO. Have a Great day.
